Let me know if you want to get lunch sometime. Love to hear about that last bullet point on your to-do list, plus meet a Northland congregant I don't know with lots of similar interests, etc.

Rob,

I am totally with you there. I follow somewhere along the lines of 140 feeds on gReader, and twitterific/twhirl is always up (and I only switch to twitterific when I don't want the extra distraction of friendfeed!). Along with that, facebook takes up so much of my time that I have the nice little facebook app for blackberry.

Sometimes, in a rare moment of clarity, I can find a couple hours to *really* crank out some code at work, or watch a movie with the wife, but I haven't touched my guitar in a year, and haven't cooked much in a long time.

Sad, really.

I dont think I could have said any of that better myself. And while others don't need to follow suit, i think there are plenty of people out there who should, myself included. This post really reminds me of what I need to be doing myself. While I dont have a family right now, and I'm actually going through a rough patch, I need to keep my eye on the Word. God is our provider and he will do just that, be it financial, social, personal, whatever. For me, I have to remember, no matter how I feel, or what is going on in my life, God is there and the more I focus on him, the more stable my life will be.

Great post man.

Hey Robert,

I just wanted to say that I'm happy to hear that you are getting more involved in the community again. I'm looking forward to hearing how you will get involved in bringing your gifts and talent to what Northland or whatever church you are a part of.

I'm praying also that we'll perhaps be able to once again revive the prayer partnership that I'm sure we both so desperately need as we continue to seek to be the men God desires for us to be.

You know what is wonderful my love? That even when we are not focused in the right direction God's purpose prevails. While we were worried about the hearts of others, what we found, was a refining in our own hearts. I have learned that going to church is not just participating in Christian activities... it's fulfilling a need for our family. Regardless of where we may live, or what church we may attend, I need to worship Him. And unfortunately, it is sometimes hard to do with any number of our 6 kids in the house at one time. I am compelled to go where you are... even if we have to drive an hour to Northland every week, and I take comfort in knowing that God is working His wonders in our family. I love you my moon and stars!

Hi Rob - welcome back. I am so glad you and your family are at Northland. Why? Because you are right - it is about the people - and you and your family are the people. We need you.
